Statement:
This work is about the other kind of beauty. Scars always look revolting; however, I want to show that our perception of the beautiful can be a lot broader than we are taught to believe it is. At that, I don’t want to cross the line beyond which the revolting becomes too revolting. To create something to catch the eye yet make the beholder wonder if what they see is actually ugly or beautiful; to stray away from the stereotypical, habitual viewpoint and take time to really consider these pictures and what they convey from a personal viewpoint — that is my intention.
Part two is a series comprised of soft pastels and hazy colors that gradually change from reddish gold to greenish copper. When pea-soup fog obscures the streets, the other kind of beautiful emerges, immersing you in an urban dream – as light dissipates and occasionally glitters about, as passers-by turn their heads, you gaze upon them in a sleepy haze to see every character’s life story flashing by in a momentary fashion. It’s all in the eye of the beholder it’s whether or not we trust what we see over what the society makes us believe.
The pictures were all taken in the city of Milan, Italy, over two days in summer.

Timeless Islands
A series of photos by Thomas Jorion, whose artistic work is based on our perception of time. Whilst our society rushes along at breakneck speed, certain places remain ‘fixed’ in time as if inanimate or on watch…
This operation also has an environmental focus. The photos draw attention to the issue of ehabilitating abandoned sites. So often we only see the damage left behind, such as soil pollution and destruction of the ecosystem, and if the site has no economic ‘future’ it is neglected for so long that it becomes part of the landscape.

Elisabeth Kudlicki was born in 1983 in Vienna. Raised in a family of musicians she started her violin studies at the age of 8 and restored her creative character. Since being a child she loved to take pictures of colourful objects. This turned out to be her passion and in the year 2007 she started to study at the photographic college „Die Graphische“. She still loves to play with colours, which are created by the light, by different kinds of inks or watercolours. There is no reworking or photomontage in the processing.
In the "Month of Photography" in November 2008 Elisabeth Kudlicki exposed her works in connection with the poems of Helmuth Seethaler. Her picture represented the entire exhibition. February 2009 she and a few other photographers arranged an exposition named „Ich Glaube“ in the Ragnarhof in Vienna.

Swiss born Cala di Laveno has been living in more than 15 – mostly Spanish speaking – countries, before settling in Switzerland. Her many travels throughout the world and the experience of different cultures were crucial in the way she approaches photography. Cala started her career at the age of 18 and she became a professional photographer following an education in Paris. Her professional career includes work for various magazines in Jordan and later in Spain; always on a freelance basis. To her photography is a window that is created by herself. Looking through a camera allows her to focus on essential things. It gives her a kind of “quiet amazement” for the things and people surrounding her.

Barbara Luisi was born 1964 in Munich, Germany, living now in Vienna, Austria and Portofino, Italy. For 10 years she worked as a professional violinist, with activities in many major orchestras in Europe. Since her seventeenth birthday dedication to photography, first camera was a Leica M6, from the beginning exclusively in her own darkroom. Since a couple of years both, classic darkroom and digital. She photographs on Leica M, Hasselblad and Canon. An important place in her work is dedicated to music and musicians. Collaboration and workshops with Eikoh Hosoe, Art Streiber, Michael Grecco, Andreas Bitesnich.
Statement:
Since I was used from early childhood to prepare my pieces of music carefully in complete solitude, I found myself after many years of dedicating my life mostly to music again in solitude in my darkroom. I understand my work mainly as a composition of seeing things in my way and putting them in post production in a content of how I would like to see them. Like a musician or a painter I love the process of develloping the ideal idea behind my picture.
